DESCRIPTION:If you have always wanted to know how Pink Aid helps keep a patient’s lights on\, a roof over her head and food on the table\, now is the time! \nWe are offering a Pink Purse Reviewer Training Session:\nThursday\, January 12\n10:00am\nMitchells  – Conference Room downstairs  \nPink Aid’s Pink Purse has now expanded into 34 states and the program receives over 100 applications per month! This essential work of our organization really lets you see the impact that Pink Aid can have directly on patients’ lives.  \nOnce you have been trained\, you will join a team of reviewers who evaluate applications to ensure they meet our criteria for funding.  This can be done from your computer in your own home on your own time.  We generally ask that you sign up for a month at a time and you will receive emails inviting you to conduct reviews in the google drive only for the month(s) of your choosing.  \nIf you are ready to help out\, please join us for this training session at Mitchells.  Our dynamo Pink Purse Program Coordinator\, Jacqueline May\, will lead the session to help you become competent and confident reviewers. DESCRIPTION:If you have been around Wilton fields this month\, you may have noticed youth athletes across numerous sports showing support for breast cancer awareness by wearing various articles of pink as part of their uniforms.   \nAs a volunteer lead\, not-for-profit organization dedicated to positive contributions to the Wilton community\, Wilton Soccer Association (“WSA”) banded together to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer this October.  \nWSA families made a generous contribution in exchange for pink socks to be worn by their players for their soccer games throughout the month of October.   \nThe combination of Wilton blue\, white plus pink is a powerful one.  \nThe idea and effort was led by dedicated WSA and community volunteers and parents\, Jessica Cooney and Millie Bezanson.  They shared that “we simply wanted to coordinate a small effort that could help even just a little bit.  We were grateful that the WSA volunteer Board of Directors and families were so willing to support.” \nIn addition\, a collaborative effort among WSA and the Wilton High School (“WHS”) Soccer Boosters Club also bolstered the effort. The two groups hosted two “Youth Days” at WHS Varsity soccer games\, inviting the WSA youth to watch a game\, participate in a “halftime run” and enjoy ice cream treats provided by College Creamery.  College Creamery is a local ice cream truck business run by soccer playing Wilton students who generously agreed to contribute proceeds from their sales at the Youth Day games to the cause.   \n100% of the funds raised from the pink socks and ice cream sales will be donated to Pink Aid. Thank you Wilton Soccer!
