2022 CT Luncheon & Fashion Show

EVENT WRAP-UP

Savoring the Power of Pink!

“Pinkchella” on September 29th marked a return to an in-person event for Pink Aid following the Covid-19 pandemic. An eager and excited crowd of 650+ gathered to celebrate Pink Aid’s 12th year of providing “compassion until there’s a cure” to breast cancer patients struggling financially locally, regionally and now, nationally. From the music festival-inspired food and decor to the thumping soundtrack provided by DJ Mo Prester, the event fueled a crowd hungry for reconnection after 2 long years of social isolation.

Singer Gabrielle Lakshmi’s powerful rendition of “You Gotta Be” set the tone for the program which included a stunning fashion show featuring Mitchell’s designer collections, a moving story of learning to “mine the joy” during life’s darkest’s moments from guest speaker, Sarrah Strimel Bentley, and our annual Celebration of Life runway walk featuring 13 breast cancer survivors and the two young daughters of Pink Aid friend, Diana Dunev, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2019.

Pinkchella’s success was the work of so many led by this year’s Event Co-Chairs, Jill Halper and Andi Sklar. Their leadership combined with that of Co-Presidents, Michele Corenman and Deb Katz, resulted in a wave of new volunteers and new enthusiasm which will help Pink Aid to continue to meet the needs of women, men and families in CT and beyond who are experiencing the financial, physical and emotional impacts of breast cancer.

On to Long Island on October 13th and we hope to see you next year!
