6TH ANNUAL LI LUNCHEON & FASHION SHOW

PINK POP — OCTOBER 2019

We are still savoring every moment of Pink Aid’s 6th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show at Mitchells! Our dedicated and hardworking Luncheon Co-Chairs Lauyrn Koke and Pam Praetorious led the charge to create a day that we will all remember for a long time to come. It was so evident that everyone in the room truly embraced the belief that a "Pop of Pink Can Make All the Difference! It was a day of celebration, shared by survivors, volunteers, donors and sponsors alike, and thanks to the generosity of this community, we were able to raise over $500,000 in support of Pink Aid’s mission.

The day included so many special moments, from the spectacular setting featuring a highly curated collection of one-of-a-kind denim jackets created by notable designers, to the exhibition of Pop Art from Northport's Lamantia Gallery. We were treated to a viewing of the gorgeous "Fall Must-Haves" 2019 Fashion Show by Mitchells. We were so honored to have beloved and dedicated Pink Aid member Deb Placey as our Guest Speaker. Deb's celebrity as longtime career Sports Broadcaster was shared as well as her inspiring breast cancer journey. The crowd was treated to a surprise when former New York Islander Clark Gillies took the stage and auctioned off a signed Gillies jersey. That was just the start of an energetic live auction that Chris Mitchell ran beautifully as he always does adding so much to the success of the day.

We were genuinely blessed to have as a special guest, Michelle DeCastro, a Breast Health Program Social Worker who shared how Pink Aid's Pink Purse directly helps reach her in-need patients. Michelle's words touched everyone in the room and helped support a record-breaking paddle raise for the Wall of Compassion, filling our Pink Purse to provide emergency financial assistance to women in need across Long Island. The pinnacle of the day, as always, was the Celebration of Life Fashion Show, where twelve survivors walked the runway with beauty and strength!
