Pink Aid’s 2021 “Virtuous” Event & Launch of “Conga Line of Compassion”
Pink Purse National Grant Recipients, ABC’s Stephanie Szostak and Pink Aid CoFounder Amy Katz Shared their Journeys in Emotional Video Release
To stay clear of the Delta Variant on the rise this summer, in lieu of Pink Aid’s anticipated “Pink-a-Cabana” live event, Pink Aid aired a signature "Virtuous" on October 7th. The 20-minute release had no “bells and whistles” and was completely underwritten so that 100% of the proceeds could help breast cancer patients in need. The video update was packed with emotion, information and celebration. In conjunction with the video, Pink Aid celebrated unprecedented corporate support with 49 local and national corporate partnerships including international retailer, Primark and DARCARS, one of the largest car retailers in the country, who will spearhead a dedicated transportation initiative.
Donors, corporate partners and friends tuned in for the inspirational video featuring this year's amazing guest host, Stephanie Szostak of ABC's "A Million Little Things" sharing her family’s journey with breast cancer. In addition, Pink Aid Co-Founder and 2021 Myra Kraft Community MVP, Amy Katz, shared a deeply personal revelation about her breast cancer recurrence and treatment during the pandemic.
Pink Aid's founders and leadership articulated a vision for expanding our signature Pink Purse Program nationally and several recipients from across the country shared how the Pink Purse Program had positively affected them and their families.
Pink Aid event chairs, Marria Pooya and Asante Robinson, turned pandemic disappointment into an amazing celebration of this year’s 2021 Warriors kicking off the “World’s Longest Conga Line” to raise money for women throughout the US experiencing financial hardship during breast cancer treatment.
The support for the Conga line coupled with our most successful auction ever will fund our CT Grants, and Pink Purse CT, and Pink Purse National Expansion programs that meet our mission “to help women survive breast cancer treatment with support and dignity, provide screening to women in financial need, and empower breast cancer survivors to heal by helping and inspiring others.”
Pink Aid, a Connecticut-based 501c3 charity formed in 2011, has granted more than $3.6 million throughout Connecticut to provide diagnostic testing, recovery and wellness programs, as well as outreach and education and emergency initiatives to breast cancer patients.
Pink Aid's Pink Purse Program provides direct emergency financial assistance to breast cancer patients undergoing treatment. Pink Purse pays for expenses including rent, mortgage, utilities, transportation, childcare, food and other essential needs - all with the goal of alleviating the stress of mounting financial burdens during an already difficult time.
