Support Connection is manned by professional peer counselors, all of whom are breast cancer survivors. The hotline is available to anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, at any stage in their journey from diagnosis, throughout treatment, and beyond. It will offer two critical kinds of support to breast cancer patients and survivors: ongoing emotional support, and navigational support to help breast cancer patients and survivors find resources. On Long Island, Pink Aid funds the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program, in partnership with Adelphi University’s School of Social Work and Nassau University Medical Center. The program’s Statewide Hotline is supported by one hundred specially-trained, professionally-supervised volunteers and social work staff, who provide comprehensive breast cancer services, support, referrals, and information. One to one services are available by phone or online chat. Support groups, counseling services, educational forums and bilingual services are also available. Available to New York State residents. Open seven days a week, 9am-5pm year-round. On off hours you will be prompted to leave a message.
